Overview

Thank you for choosing to submit a proposal to the FCAT^® University Research Awards Program!

Your proposal should be no longer than five pages, excluding supplemental materials. Ensure your proposal aligns to one of the research themes. We welcome moonshot ideas and the novel application of technologies. For proposals that can connect to an aspect of financial services and/or financial technology, please address that in your submission. You will receive a prompt to categorize your research type on the corresponding submission page for the purposes of review.

This form has three sections:

2) Confirmation of Terms

3) Proposal Description & Upload.

The FCAT^® Research Awards Submission Guidelines and Terms are included with the proposal document package. Ensure you have reviewed these prior to application.

Your initial submission is expected to be no more than 5 pages (1-inch margins, single spaced), with the key components of the proposal outlined in the FCAT Research Awards Submission Guidelines and Terms.

Please be succinct in your proposal. You do not need to use 5 pages if your proposal does not call for it (ex. a short-term project for the FCAT Applied Technology award may only require 2 pages to outline). Your proposal should reflect thoughtful and innovative research ideas and/or application regardless of the award that you are pursuing in our program.

SUBMISSION CONFIRMATIONS

Intellectual Property

The Fidelity Center for Applied Technology and its corporate affiliates shall, at a minimum, receive all necessary rights to use, for noncommercial purposes, the outcomes of the research they sponsor. This includes the right to use any potentially patentable subject matter or intellectual property. Furthermore, the Fidelity Center for Applied Technology and its corporate affiliates shall require full noncommercial use rights to any background intellectual property necessary to utilize the sponsored research results.

Yes, I understand the minimum intellectual property requirements in order to receive any research award funding.

If any background intellectual property is a requirement to use any outcome from the sponsored research project, the university and principal investigator possess the ability to arrange for conveyance of internal business usage rights to the Fidelity Center for Applied Technology and its corporate affiliates.

Yes, the university and/or principal investigator can arrange to convey all usage rights for any required background intellectual property. There is NO background intellectual property required to use the outcome(s) of this research project submission.

Confidentiality and Privacy

DO NOT SUBMIT CONFIDENTIAL OR PROPRIETARY INFORMATION. Your Proposal is not considered confidential or proprietary. By submitting your proposal, you grant us all rights to use the content of your Proposal for the purposes of evaluating it for a funding award. You are free to use your Proposal as you wish. Proposals will not be returned.
